I have had the pleasure to have been studying Spanish with Ana for the last 6 years. Ana is a great teacher, i have never had a boring class with her. She knows how to pace the class to suit my ability to understand the concepts being presented. She has covered a wide range of subjects in our classes : from grammar , vocabulary, idioms , comprehension and conversation. she also exposes the student to Spanish/Latino culture and currant affairs. To enhance the learning experience she includes aspects of my family life , my hobbies.and life style . When necessary she has helped me with virtual classes. Ana has been very patient with me and my ability to learn more of this beautiful language. If i have been unable to grasp a concept, she has the ability to alter the learning process to help me understand and remember the concept. I cannot recommend Ana highly enough to anyone wishing to learn Spanish with an extremely competent , caring and entertaining teacher.

I began learning Spanish with Ana as a complete novice 6 months ago - and now I am ready to translate Shakespeare! Actually not quite ….. but I am ready to confidently tackle train journeys, restaurants and taxi drivers and much, much more during my upcoming extended travels in Spain. This was my goal when I started with Ana and she has got me there and well beyond. As a 50-something year old engineer I was apprehensive about taking on the challenge of learning a new language. I should not have worried at all because Ana has made it a most enjoyable and rewarding experience. I cannot recommend LSWA highly enough.

We started working with Ana to learn Spanish, with a weekly face to face meeting before the pandemic. Since then we have continued lessons face to face when possible, but also via zoom. Ana is a delight. I don’t know where she gets her energy from. We look forward to each lesson, not just for the Spanish, but also for the positive vibes. Quite often, we will take the lesson off in a direction outside the lesson plan, and Ana has a gift of using those side streets to learn more Spanish vocabulary or grammar. In terms of effectiveness, we’ve been working with Ana for over 18 months, and we can each understand basic spoken and written Spanish, with slower advances in written and spoken. It does take commitment, and actually doing the homework between classes, but I extremely happy with the support that Ana has given us. We will work with her for as long as she will have us!

I began learning Spanish with Ana almost three years ago and still find my classes as enjoyable now as I did to begin with! My reason to start Spanish classes in Sydney was to maintain the level of Spanish I'd achieved through living & studying at university in Spain. I thoroughly enjoy the conversations I have with Ana on a diverse range of topics from travel & current affairs to film & family. Since starting my lessons I've traveled to South America & Spain and was confident in my ability to converse in Spanish; something I would have found difficult had it not been for continuing my Spanish education with Ana. I would have no hesitation at all in recommending Ana as a Spanish teacher given her professional yet friendly teaching style.

I am so grateful to have found Ana! I started as a complete beginner before an overseas trip and loved my lessons so much I decided to continue. It has now been over 2 years! Learning as an adult can be confronting but Ana understands, her lessons are always so great because she is attentive to what her students need. I have been learning Spanish with Ana for a little over 3 months. I wanted to learn basic Spanish skills for my upcoming trip to South America. When I started I hoped to learn some basic conversational skills and survival phrases. Since starting with Ana I have learnt so much more grammar, vocabulary and useful phrases than I ever expected in such a short time! Ana makes the classes so easy going and enjoyable and is always happy to tailor them to my specific needs. She always comes very prepared and organised to lessons. Overall I've had such a great time learning with Ana and highly recommend her lessons!

I've been taking weekly lessons at Learn Spanish with Ana for over a year. I'm in my 50's and not naturally gifted at languages. Ana's bespoke approach has enabled me to make quicker progress than I envisaged, and much faster progress than other Spanish lessons I've attended. Ana sets the curriculum to each student's need, such that every lesson is challenging yet achievable, ending with a satisfying feeling of progress. I first came across Ana when she translated my wedding speech into Spanish for my wedding in Colombia in May 2017. I then had a few private lessons to work on the pronunciations, tone and pace. Was thoroughly enjoyable, and the speech went across amazingly well. I have since had 6 private lessons to brush up on a few things before another trip to Colombia last month. She was incredibly flexible and well prepared with the lessons very well tailored for what I was looking for. I’ve done a number of “units” through a Latin American Spanish school. They were quite good, but of course classroom based, fast paced and not really flexible (plus I’m a slow learner). Learning with Ana is a lot less stressful, far more enjoyable and I get so much more out of each 90 minutes. Plus she’s a really lovely person! I’d highly recommend her.
